Darn it son.
Anyway, if you haven't already seen me suffer from an absolute spasm on Twitter after watching Captain America: Civil War (which you should have because I only link my blog on Twitter), you'll be happy to know that I did and upset to know I didn't die from it.
Back to the talking point, and as cliche this sounds and as much as you have heard from the entire world and its inhabitants, Civil War was an exceptional movie. It was pretty much the best movie MCU have ever produced. Action all around, and it had the occasional and pretty well scattered jokes that we all love MCU for.
I'm not going to be writing any spoilers here, because I'd love for all to enjoy the movie.
Except not all will.
Firstly, the Civil War is post-Ultron era - which means you may have to be following the entire MCU to actually really get the movie and its point. Yes, the movie does pretty darn sick within 2.5 hours to condense the gist behind the civil affairs on Team Freedom and Team I-Have-Too-Much-Money-And-Now-I-Have-Too-Much-Sympathy. But because it is a continuation, a series of movies (much like Harry Potter was), sometimes we struggle to grasp some of the concepts and the conversational flashbacks. Even I forgot Falcon fought Ant-Man earlier last year (woops, spoiler right there).
Secondly, because it's so long and yet so action-packed, there is simply no time for a toilet break. So order a smaller cup of Coca Cola, will you. Or get another cup for your discharge midway through.
Nonetheless, it's hard to pinpoint what exactly is wrong with this movie. The plot is a bit hollow, and some say it lacks the emotional touch despite this being MCU's 13th movie. You just can't really relate to the traumatic experiences of Black Widow or how Tony Stark is haunted by the fact that they killed pretty much everyone in his previous movies.
But it's Marvel, right? So there ain't no time for tears or I-cri-everytiem-esque things, right? Well, maybe, that's probably up to you to decide.
Oh yeah, Scarlet Witch is pretty darn hot and Spider-Man is pretty darn funny. The innocent, high school-ish kind, not the Tony Stark-witty kind.
Yeah. Literally and figuratively.
