We don't talk anymore like we used to do.
Brilliant song, and it is a rather clear reflection of what life presents.
In this day and age, we are swamped by technology that makes it pretty darn easy to talk to each other. Be it Whatsapp, Snapchat or Telegram, the world is tossing at us what Ultron attempted to toss on Mother Earth (and eventually failed terribly).
What they share in similarity, though, are the catastrophic consequences (had Ultron's attempt happen, which of course it didn't, but in this case I'm just saying that it did... nevermind, you get the catch).
I talk to a lot of people. That's not to say I'm popular among a certain demographic or with everyone; I'm simply connected and always on the phone. I think people who I talk to can testify that I actually reply messages quite fast.
But that was kind of where the problem lies.
Being so Aventador-esque meant that more often than not, I'd expect the quality of conversation to continue, and for the people I talk to to enjoy the conversation as much as I would. And as always, when life throws you good thoughts, you get shat on with disappointment. And over time, we don't talk anymore.
And that's just the way it is. Not talking anymore doesn't mean that the relationship ends; yes it may get compromised and you may not be as close as you were, but it's still there. After all, talking works both ways, right?
I've always been someone on the conservative side; I don't initiate conversations because I don't want to be that idiot disturbing everyone else. It's not to say I don't care, I just don't want to be a nuisance or annoyance or - worst of all - an obligation. As Spider-Man demonstrated in Civil War, being talkative at the wrong time can be quite irritating.
Sure, it's a shame that I don't even talk to some people that I used to text almost daily. But that's just the way it is. People move on, and the onus is on both parties to make that effort; sometimes that effort is no longer worth it and you just don't really want to talk anymore. That chemistry is gone. It's part of a natural process for everyone, so that we can meet new people and make more friends.
Don't make such a big fuss about how your
It always has to end angsty, doesn't it?
Song of the day:
Charlie Puth ft. Selena Gomez - We Don't Talk Anymore
(World's worst-kept song-of-the-day secret since Spider-Man's involvement in Civil War)
(Okay I should stop with the Marvel references)
(No but seriously, Civil War is an amazing movie)
