That's probably how I'll describe the Sec 1 camp.
I was so busy I couldn't squeeze time to blog...
And due to the fact that I'm extremely tired at the moment, I cannot really reveal too much about the camp. So I'll just do a quick one.
Day 1
Briefing was fine, except JJ came late. I did kinda talk to him after Day 1 on Whatsapp, and then... Well, read on to find out!
Slacked and slacked, walked around to ensure everything was ready, then lunch. Took a while for Sec 1s to come down.
Ice Breakers looked fun! So did Flag-and-Cheer Making, all thanks to our Games and Logistics department for organising.
Alternative Activity was good too, thanks to the Welfare committee for making it happen! At the end of the day we were all tired and shagged, but still, the committee worked on to improve. I applaud that!
Went home at about 7pm, had dinner with my scouts gang at Mos Burger, and then rushed home just in time to watch Point Of Entry...
Day 2
JJ said he had arrived on a helipad...
So anyway, when I came to school, I realised my PE pants were torn down the right side. It was quite shredded. So I had to call for Dad to bring me another one. Thanks a million, Daddy!
Taught the Sec 1s some campfire cheer, and then went out to do some campfire shopping.
After shopping for like 1.5 hours, we came back with only 2 towels, a lighter and some chilli padi (we're auspicious people, chilli padi help to chase away the rain!).
Nonetheless, moving on, had lunch, and then ZEST Activity! Didn't manage to see the end of it, went to help out Welfare at the street football court. Heard they've had fun, that's awesome!
During the Alternative Activity, the campfire committee gathered and prepared for the campfire. Bought items again from FairPrice, and then when we came back, there was bad news - The rain approached. Our chilli padi clearly didn't work very effectively...
Disappointed, we setted up the wet-weather plan, and then yet, even though it was in the hall, the atmosphere was simply stunning! For that, I'd like to thank all Camp Comm members for hyping up the atmosphere!
Played games, sang cheers, and then finally, the campfire ended. Got the Sec 1s to go down to the parade square since it was no longer raining, and then started the fire. Yes, we used the Scout's sparkler campfire idea! Problem?
The Sec 1s cheered VERY loudly, and then there I stood, thinking what it would have been had the weather not turned its back on us. Maybe the campfire would have been more than a campfire. It could have been something else, something special.
Nevermind, no regrets! Delighted to be the camp chief for such a big camp, would like to thank teachers for placing their faith in me!
Ok, that's all, I'm tired, my toes hurt very badly (knocked onto one of the legs of the coffee table and then it kinda bled a bit), but hopefully it recovers tomorrow so that I can go CCA Open House! Wish me luck~
Thank You to teachers, OT members, Facilitators, and of course, the campers, for making 2013 ZHSS Secondary One Orientation Camp such a success!
Enduring
