Phonevolution

So errrr. I'm going to do this really interesting phone collection I've had since... Idk, Primary 2?

It's really fun to recollect all the memories I have had with my old phones, some of them are no longer around but still. Much excites! Let's go.

1. Motorola V50

My first ever phone. I think. Might be another older model actually, I've no idea which exact model it was. But it was black, and it sure was swag. Flip phones were the in-thing back then, and so it was just super cool to just bitch-flip your phone to hang up on someone you didn't fancy a conversation with. It was just... so cool and swaggy.

2. Nokia 3205

This phone was really creative. The idea is that the phone is encased with a completely removable plastic cover, and inside there would be a layer of template paper. The phone came with like 3-5 of the default funky templates, and then another 3 plain templates just for you to design your own phone! It was really an amazing concept, and looking back, man, I'd wish they could revive this idea again. Simple phone, fun concept.

3. Sony Ericsson T630

A really small but handy phone! Loved playing with the toggle stick, which was really a cool thing. Battery could last for like 5-7 days without charging. The design was pretty slick, and on the sides, the buttons really integrated very well. They called it the "futuristic-looking phone" back then, and yeah, I'd agree.

4. Nokia N73

Back then, 3.15 megapixels was a really darn big deal. And this was a really sick phone, except it was a tat fat. Nonetheless, it was really fun to play around with, and I could just show off my camera to everyone because it really was such a big thing for a phone to have 3.15 megapixels. It was really a camera phone, and it was just amazingly convenient and quite fast back then.

5. Sony Ericsson Aino

It was my first ever touchscreen phone and it really amazed me. Like, I was totally impressed with what it could do. And then there's that convenient keypads whenever you need it with a simple slide. And, mind you, the camera was 8.1 megapixels. Simply amazing back in 2009 when the phone was first released. It was really thin as well. But I also had one of the most embarrassing moment while using this phone.

You see, touchscreen technology wasn't that great back then. So one day, while I was walking home, about to enter the lift, a song started playing. There was another guy entering the lift, and once we entered, the song continued playing. I thought it was the guy blasting his music. But then 6th floor came, and then I exited. And the music followed me. That was when I realised the poor touchscreen really screwed me up and somehow activated my music player randomly. It was just in my pocket. Creepy at times when it starts doing random things.

This phone had stereo speakers too, which didn't appear on my newer phones - ironically.

6. Samsung Galaxy Ace

My first proper smartphone and I felt really swaggy with it. At that time, when I got this in about 2011, it was relatively new and cheap. Did what it was meant to do, and I really loved the back cover finishing. This was all before Samsung decided to go with glossy plastic back, and the studded finish was just so great to grip and easy to handle. One major downside, though, was that I couldn't download Temple Run because it was 0.8GHz - Temple Run needed a processor that clocked 1GHz. So I was disappointed. But I did suck it up and, well, continued with the phone for 2 years.

7. Samsung Galaxy S2

Just discussed with my brother over lunch that I wanted to switch my phone in Dec 2012. And he really wanted the Pink Samsung Galaxy Note that was limited edition. So I offered a swap - I'd buy over his S2, and he'll buy the Note. Quickly enough, the deal was done in about 1 hour. Tada.

S2 was a super great phone. Like, it was phenomenal as a smartphone. It could do pretty much most things you'd want it to do - surf the net quickly, whatsapp, whatever. It was a pretty phone too, and I really loved the design. When I first started using it, it was a bit hard. It was, after all, a 0.8 inch upsize from the Galaxy Ace, and I found it a bit hard to swipe the Notifications Bar. Before I made my mind to buy over the phone, I kept thinking it was simply too big of a phone. But then, once you go big, you'll never go back. I tried using the Ace again for fun, and it was too small. Like, the Galaxy S2 just surpassed the Ace. At pretty much everything.

I think I've had very good memories with this particular phone. It was hardy, it was not afraid of falls, and certainly not afraid to be proud to be itself. Simple tasks were performed quickly, but sometimes it just lags too. Towards the end of its time with me, it got pretty angry and just kept crashing. But I still loved it a lot.

8. Samsung Galaxy Note 3

And then we have the beauty itself. The thing that really made me so determined to get this phone was just the way it's shaped - simple, like the S2. The back is faux leather finishing which is really what makes this phone truly what it's supposed to look like - a notebook. Very fast processor as well, almost double the speed of my S2! And well, this time, it's a big jump in screen size - from 4.3 inches to 5.7 inches. Loving it so far, it's doing what I ask of it, and even does it better sometimes. Multitasking is pretty much the best on this phone, especially with the multi-window options. Loads of smart gimmicks like Air Gesture, and well, a 13 megapixel camera that can record 2160p videos! Dayum. Love this phone so so much. And so much more after the KitKat update. Amazing phone, and it's pretty future-proof too, I'm sure.

If you're not a gadget kinda person, you'll be disappointed by this blogpost.

Not to worry, I've got some puns to share.

After talking to Melissa aka the Melcaron for about 2 weeks (or is it 3 already...?), we've generated quite a few puns already. I think you can say our conversation is decorated with so much pun that it's just... amazing. HAHA.

Song of the day:
Lady Gaga - Do What U Want ft. R. Kelly

Really love this song. It's got a deeper meaning to it, about how female artistes in the industry need to be invaded and stuff just to gain fame. Such a great composition from Gaga~
