And I won't go on saying cliche things about how elitism sucks and should be abolished. However, I do have a little personal thought that came into my mind this entire day. It just keeps on ringing in my head, reminding me about how I was at the receiving end of this elitism.
I'll never understand why I'll never be able to have a proper photoshoot with my PDP (even though it's already pretty much over in March).
It sucks. When you know that everyone else that have names and honour and titles gets to be the exclusives. It just makes the boundaries even clearer now.
I'm not going to blame anyone, because there could probably be a reason behind not being able to feature everyone.
Sorry I have to bitch about this. Sorry I have to be direct. But I can't help it. It just doesn't help that I do not feel attached. It's my fault maybe anyway, at the very beginning.
Oh well, life lessons learnt! Probably won't make these mistakes again.

On the bright side of things, life outside elitism is pretty good. I mean, okay, I may and should have done better for JCTs. But it isn't the be-all or the end-all, and certainly my results signalled how much more I could have done if I put in 100%. I'd say I barely placed 60% this time so... Maximum potential? That's to save up for A Levels itself.
I have a theory that if you consistently use 100% every single examination, you'll run out of stamina. And this claim works for me.
For my Sec 4 results, I got L1R5 of 18 for Prelim 1, 13 for Prelim 2 and 6 for O Levels. It drops because I didn't put in my 100% for the first 2 prelims but ended up working my ass off for O Levels.
Why? Well, 2 explanations:
1. If you work too hard and consistently score 6-pointers, you'll end up becoming complacent. Everyone will bow down to you in class, and you become proud of yourself. End result? You flop in the big one.
2. If you don't put in 100%, the results show. You then start to think that you need to work harder everytime, and then the results improve. It's a morale boost. You will always think that as long as you move closer to 100%, results will keep improving.
Okay maybe I just have to accept the fact that I need to do well for Prelims.

I'm a huge supporter of the LGBT movement. Simply because I respect human rights.
I feel that it is fundamental that everyone should be allowed to decide who he/she loves, be it one from the same gender or one from the opposing. It's the freedom of choice.
Okay, I understand some religions are against promoting such movements and would not encourage followers of that religion to do the same. I completely understand and respect that.
I'm more irritated by the fact that some have to apply their beliefs on others. Why would you start a 'White Dot' movement? I mean, even if you're against LGBT, they are only a minority. Let them voice their rights! Why do you have to go against them? They are already small enough.
I find some arguments completely lacking common sense. Here is a comment that I can remember from a The Straits Times news article on Facebook:
"If LGBT, then it will not be good for our next generation! We already have population growth problem, still want support LGBT. Later no children already!"
This is the funniest one. Top, top sense of proportion. LGBT barely accounts for 1% of Singapore's population, my not-so-educated friend. Because 1% can totally affect our country's birth rates, eh?
At the end of the day, my view remains this: if you don't like the movement, it's okay to not support it. But going against a group of people calling for more awareness and more freedom by using religion or child education as excuses is just plain, baseless retaliation.
I will say LGBT only because it has been a recurring issue in Singapore over the past few months. I personally stick to the paragraph above for everything. Be it LGBT, racism, animal rights, whatever.
I quote this from a tweet I saw:
"Banning others from being gay because you don't like it is like disallowing someone to eat salmon just because you don't like seafood."
Or whatever. I kinda edited that one. But the idea is there. LOL. Here's another brilliant tweet.
"You calling me gay just because I support LGBTs? I support animal rights, do I look like a f**king alpaca to you?"
These 3 topics were interesting to write.
See ya
