A Levels is Advanced Level if you don't already know...
A Levels has been a very enriching experience for me I guess. It's taught me to be resilient and consistent. And allowed me to sieve through my friends, those that stayed with me and those that left. Ironically, what I don't want is people leaving me during As, as busy as I was; I needed support, so thanks to those that did stay, I'm delighted to share with you guys my results!
H1 General Paper - B
H1 Chinese Language - A
H1 Project Work - A
H2 Geography - A
H2 China Studies in English - A
H2 Economics - A
H2 Mathematics - A
Let's just start with what has surprised me, okay. GP was fine, I think B was a fair grade given my performance really.
Chinese and PW happened in 2013 so let's just say, both are expected results and honestly I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
I really adored Geography so I thought an A would do my passion justice. I really loved Geography as a subject, and I guess that helped me become motivated and it managed to stay that way till As ended. Although I admit I was a bit lucky with the essay component when TNC came out and I got to write what I had trained for.
China Studies was okay. I honestly expected a B or a C at the worst given that my Independent Study was very rushed. I guess my case study and essay saved me immensely, because my IS was really worthy only of a C grade. But it was a huge surprise to me, and I have to thank my teachers for that. They were amazing, really.
Economics sprung up another surprise for me! I've never gotten anything above a D grade in TJC, so to get an A really took me aback. I really expected a mere B grade, so I'm not sure what I wrote that made me get such a grade. I was never good at econs, and never really managed to get going like I did with other subjects.
For Mathematics, I thought I screwed up Paper 1 really badly. I guess my Paper 2 did save it, because seriously, if they had only taken my Paper 1 grades, it would have been a C. Probably got enlightened that night after Paper 1 and attained nirvana to do a very good Paper 2.
So there you have it, my A Levels in a nutshell - full of near-misses, just like O Levels again. Do I count myself lucky? Yes I do. But I'll take it.
Song of the day:
Olly Murs - Up ft. Demi Lovato
(I'm really, really so in love with this song. I know I say this every single time but there's just something relateable about it, something about the tune and the sincerity of the lyrics and vocals. If I had to perform this, I would. That's how much I love it. I want to perform this some day.)
About Me
